It's a great start to a series. It has all the things that make me (a-not-so-young-adult) love YA literature and it revives an original background story to go with it.Maddy is a great heroine and you can already tell she is going to evolve throughout the series and us with her. Eddy is, like heroes usually are, dreamy at times and exasperating at other, sometimes you just want to shake him.The whole book is told through Maddy's point of view, and i found that annoying at times because she is missing so much information. On the other hand I loved how she slowly discovers the legends behind the misteries that she faces. If the book were, in fact, a song to wake to it would be a very catchy tune and I can't wait to read the next installment. Luckily it seems we won't have to wait very long.
Wonderfully written, great story and beautiful characters and worlds. It was just great. I'm an instant fan of this book. Is one of the best I've read, not this year but ever.
